She is learning Italian once again, a passion she first discovered in her young adult years at college. She knows what it feels like to memorize vocabulary and freeze at the counter. To understand the grammar and miss the joke. To want the language, not just the certificate.

Fabrizio is the ultimate Salemi ambassador, a community cornerstone and the heartbeat of the town. He has quietly helped bring expats from around the world into this community, and he carries a real vision for the town's near future. Ancora is one of those special projects.
You may have seen him on the BBC's Amanda & Alan's Italian Job and on HGTV's house-hunting series about bargain homes in Italy. On the ground in Salemi, he is far more than a realtor. He is the guy you call when your car is stuck in the mud, the DJ who occasionally spins for the town, and the person who opens doors most visitors never find: the family trattoria, the producer round the back, the cousin with the keys to the palazzo.
